The benefits of winning an award are well documented
and something that can really set award winners apart
from their peers. E2 Media’s Award of Excellence is a well
established and widely recognised awards scheme that
can really help cement an organisation’s reputation in
their industry. With an Award of Excellence there is no
need to attend an expensive ceremony to be eligible
to receive an award and the nomination process is
straightforward, with a level playing field for all entrants
regardless of their size or location. Entrants to the Award
of Excellence scheme can self nominate, be nominated
by a third party or in some cases be nominated by our
own team if we feel their achievements warrant the

The criteria for being selected to receive one of our
awards is far reaching and there are many things that
can contribute to the decision. We give out our awards
to individuals and organisations both big and small so
you don’t have to be the biggest in your field, or even
the best. As an organisation we are not qualified to say
who is the best in each field and we leave that to the
various trade bodies in each industry. As an independent
publisher what we can do and what we do is give the right
organisations that meet the criteria our wholehearted
endorsement by giving them one of our awards.
We feel that the professional background and experience
of our team makes us great judges and winning an Award
of Excellence carries considerable weight being widely
recognised not just in the UK but globally across a broad
spectrum of industries.
How do we choose our winners? There is never just
a single reason but usually several things that make them
stand out from their competitors. It may be a unique
or innovative product, it may be an investment into
upgrading their product or service. It could be their work

community. There are many potential reasons but one

Reaching the top of any profession is a difficult challenge but
sustaining that excellence and staying at the top of any sector
is an even more impressive accomplishment. This is something
that multi award winning Peggy Prendeville Interior Design
has achieved with quite remarkable consistency since being
founded back in 1985 by experienced professional Peggy
Prendeville. She has made a real name for herself in the years
since, winning several prestigious industry awards for her
work including Best Bespoke Interior Architecture and Design
Studio in the prestigious Design and Build Awards 2025. In
recognition of her achievements and the stunning results that
she has produced we are delighted to announce that Peggy
Prendeville Interior Design is the latest winner of one of our
Lifetime Achievement Awards.
This is one of the most prestigious accolades that we give
out as an organisation with Peggy Prendeville joining a very
exclusive group of winners. With our awards we think it’s
important to recognise organisations or individuals that bring
something new and innovative to their marketplace. They don’t
necessarily have to be the biggest, but someone who is trying
to offer something different and with an emphasis on providing
a great product or service. We feel that Peggy Prendeville
Interior Design ticks all the boxes and is a worthy winner of our
award plus it will come as no surprise to anyone that has ever
worked with her. In this edition we were lucky enough to catch
up with Peggy who gave us a fascinating insight into her work
over the years and the success she has enjoyed.
Her passion for interior design is something that began during
her childhood with her formative years being spent in what
she describes as, “A rather dingy and shambolic house being
brought up by my artist parents and writer grandmother, whilst
some of my childhood friends had architect parents and lived
in beautifully designed homes. From a very early age I used
to lie in bed at night re-designing our house in my mind by
using lots of the ideas from my friends’ houses and adapting
them into our family home. Probably not normal behaviour for
a small child I’m sure but this became my fantasy world.”
Her journey continued when she completed a 3 year Interior
Design and Furnishing course in 1974 graduating with
Distinction and being awarded the course prize. Elaborating
further on her professional journey Peggy says, “After working
for 12 years firstly in an architectural practice followed by several
interior design companies in the UK and abroad, I bought a
bare shell warehouse space for myself to live and work in within
the Spratt’s Dog Biscuit Warehouse in London’s East End. After
completing my conversion, the property developer for the site
of 4 warehouses approached me to ask if I would like to be the
recommended designer for the overall project. In exchange for
them using my home as a show flat, they would recommend
me to anyone who didn’t have an architect or designer already.
This then resulted in me designing 36 interiors from bare shell
spaces over a 6 year period including being asked to create 4
show homes within the last 2 warehouses on the site.
Other developers then visited my show homes, and this then
led to me working on developments all over the East End. So,
from initially buying a bare shell space for myself - this set me
on a particular career path which I hadn’t anticipated, and I
really loved it!!”
In the years since she has not looked back and has gone on to
work on numerous projects with stunning results. Despite over
50 years in the industry, she is showing no signs of slowing down
and is still very passionate about the work that she does. What
Peggy has achieved is a reminder that anything is possible with
the right mindset, knowledge and a determination to always
provide a great service. Peggy embodies the spirit and actions
of a modern and successful businesswoman. The fact that she
has been able to work so effectively with such a diverse range
of clients across different countries says a great deal about her
unique skill set and it’s clear that there are many chapters yet to
be written in the Peggy Prendeville story.

Lambourn Foodhall is a much-loved institution in the
heart of the rural Berkshire village of Lambourn, offering
far more than just a traditional butcher’s counter, it is
both a high-quality butchery and a food hall, catering
to locals, racehorse stables and the wider surrounding

For years the business was known as NJ Richards High
Class Family Butchers, run by Neil Richards. Over time,
the company evolved. In a deliberate rebranding under
the stewardship of Neil’s son, Ryan, NJ Richards became
